Unite, Share, Build: Strengthening the Employability of First Nations and Inuit
The 2025 Pre-employability and Employability Akima Conference, organized by the First Nations Human Resources Development Commission of Quebec (FNHRDCQ), is a must-attend event for professionals, managers, partners, and stakeholders dedicated to strengthening workforce development and employability for First Nations and Inuit.

Target audience
• Representatives of the 27 communities represented by the FNHRDCQ
• Front-line colleagues in each community
• Front-line workers from sister Commissions and partners
Front-line workers from other First Nations and Inuit organizations who wish to:
• Improve the services offered to their clients
• Learn more about pre-employability and employability services


Conference experience: what to expect?
On the program:
• Hands-on workshops led by experts and community members.
• Panels on best practices, innovations, HR challenges, and inspiring success stories.
• Targeted networking to build lasting collaborations.
• A strong cultural foundation in the program to highlight Indigenous diversity and expertise.
This event aims to:
• First, promote the exchange of practices and expertise among First Nations and Inuit stakeholders, ETSC’s, sister commissions, and sector partners.
• Second, strengthen collaboration among organizations, institutions, employers, and community members.
• Finally, work together to explore innovative and tailored solutions to address concrete challenges related to supporting, recruiting, and integrating First Nations and Inuit talent.
That’s why the conference combines networking, sharing of initiatives, hands-on workshops, and collective reflection. The goal is to equip, inspire, and connect those who work every day to advance the economic inclusion of First Nations and Inuit in Québec.
