Urban labour market services for First Nations, offered through the FCEA Program, provide training, employability and employment support measures adapted to the realities of people living in urban areas.

They aim to support labour market participation, strengthen skills and improve the living conditions of the people receiving support.

Training

Returning to school and training

Support may be available for a return-to-school or training project connected to an employment goal.

This support can help clarify your project, confirm the steps to take and review potential funding options based on your situation.

Entering or re-entering the labour market

Wage subsidies

Certain measures may help you gain professional experience leading to sustainable employment.

These measures are reviewed according to your situation, employment project and the applicable criteria.

Specific supports

Costs related to an eligible measure

Purchase of materials related to the measure, where applicable.
Costs related to obtaining a driver’s licence class required for employment or training in a specific field.
A regular Class 5 driver’s licence is not eligible under this measure.
Transportation or childcare costs associated with an eligible measure.
Entrepreneurship

Self-employment

People who want to explore self-employment or entrepreneurship may be directed to the appropriate resources.
