🎯 Job Description:
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI), the school board serving Nunavik’s 14 northern communities, is seeking two passionate vocational education teachers to deliver the Professional Cooking Program (5811). This unique opportunity offers a rewarding teaching experience in a culturally rich northern context.
🧑🍳 Program Objectives:
This vocational program prepares students to work as professional cooks by developing their skills and knowledge in:
Planning mise en place and workflow for food service
Cooking and presenting various dishes according to standards
Applying food safety, hygiene, and occupational health practices
Preparing, seasoning, and storing appetizers, soups, meats, fish, vegetables, sauces, and desserts
Designing à la carte, table d’hôte, and buffet menus
Required experience and qualifications
✅ Requirements:
Fluency in two of the three working languages: Inuktitut, English, French
Experience teaching adult learners
Experience teaching multilevel classrooms
➕ Assets:
Knowledge and delivery of MEES (Quebec Ministry of Education) programs
Experience teaching English and French as second languages
Familiarity with the Moodle platform
💰 Salary and Benefits:
Salary based on experience and qualifications, ranging from $46,527 to $92,027 annually, prorated to workload.
