Regular position
35 hours per week

The Services for Persons with Decreasing Independence Advisor must:
The incumbent must contribute to the development of the skills of practitioners in their field of expertise. They must advise and support communities in terms of services for persons with decreasing independence. They must also act as a liaison between communities, governments and other organizations. More specifically, the incumbent must:
• Assist First Nations communities and organizations in the management of federal programs (First Nations and Inuit Home and Community Care Program [FNIHCCP] and the Assisted Living Program
[ALP]) and in ensuring program accessibility in terms of services for persons with decreasing independence.
• Contribute to the implementation of the Framework Policy on Continuing Care for Persons with Decreasing Independence in Quebec and program harmonization.
• Provide the communities with the information necessary for the analysis of the various legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and directives that govern the health and social services offer that
may have an impact on services for persons with decreasing independence.
• Support First Nations communities and organizations in the administration and implementation of various legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines, as needed.
• Write information notes, updates and other information documents.
• Collaborate in the deployment of information management systems related to services for persons with decreasing independence (e.g., I-CLSC, ISNAP).
• Advise and support First Nations communities and organizations in resolving issues in the context of accessing and administering service programs for persons with decreasing independence
(FNIHCCP and ALP).
• Ensure monitoring activities in terms of services for persons with decreasing independence in order to make recommendations to improve procedures, tools and strategies.
• Contribute to the analysis of the needs of First Nations communities and organizations in their field and identify the activities (training, support and follow-ups) that are likely to meet these needs,
increase the autonomy of communities in matters health and social services, and contribute to improving the living conditions of First Nations.
• Coordinate the holding of regional meetings or training sessions.

Required experience and qualifications

Prerequisites and hiring conditions
• Bachelor’s degree in health, social services or another relevant field.
• Two to three years of experience in health or social services.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 as well as software such as I-CLSC, ISNAP, etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations cultures.
• Advanced French and English (spoken and written).
• A valid driver’s license.

Salary
The gross annual salary is between $54,454.40 and $67,067.00 and varies according to the candidate’s experience.
