Job description

Under the authority of the Medical Affairs and Physical Health Coordinator, and in collaboration with the various partners, you exercise the necessary functions to coordinate, implement and ensure the improvement of the well-being of elderly people in the territory, as well as to fight against the abuse of elderly or vulnerable people.

You ensure the activities necessary for the identification and evaluation of resources and regional needs. You design and propose organizational plans to ensure adequate planning of services. You provide advice regarding the implementation or improvement of services.

You also assume specific mandates and act as a resource person for the teams of the Regional Board and establishments in the region, always with a view to improving continuity in the service offering.

Required experience and qualifications

• Hold an undergraduate university degree in an appropriate discipline (Social Sciences or Health Sciences); however, a combination of relevant training and experience may be considered.
• Two years of relevant experience, ideally in the health and social services sector.
• Good understanding of issues related to aging, community organization process, and the health and social services system.
• Skills for interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
• Dynamism, autonomy, and sense of responsibility.
• Mobilization and leadership skills.
• Good judgment and reasoning, sense of organization and planning.
• Strength in management, coordination, and group leadership.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn on the job and good adaptability.
• Reading and writing skills in two of the three official languages of Nunavik.
• Functional knowledge of the Office suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), email software and Internet.

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Temporary, full-time position (35 hours/week) of 2 years with possibility of extension;
Position based in telework with travels in Nunavik;
Salary according to the rules set forth by the MSSS (27.08$/h to 47.98$/h).
