Administrative Assistant
Job description
In this role, you would support the Administrative Coordinator and help keep the day-to-day office running smoothly. That means managing communications, maintaining records, tracking finances, supporting events, and a range of other tasks that keep things organized and moving. It is a varied role, and the work shifts depending on what the organization needs on any given day.
Required experience and qualifications
Education
CEGEP diploma in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
At least one year of relevant professional work. A background in a nonprofit, community-based, or social services environment is an asset, as is experience in an administrative or office support role.
Skills and Attributes
Bilingualism in French and English is an asset; knowledge of an Indigenous language, primarily Cree or Inuktitut, is also an asset
Strong written and oral communication skills
Organized, reliable, and attentive to detail
Ability to manage routine tasks independently and flag issues when they arise
Comfortable working in a busy, sometimes unpredictable environment
Comfort and fluency with technology is important; familiarity with Google Workspace, Zoom, Zeffy, and social media platforms is an asset, as is a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools as needed
Ability to take direction from Indigenous leadership and work respectfully within an Indigenous-led organization
Discretion and sound judgment around confidential information
