Description:
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik. We are currently seeking a Student Life Animator to oversee the organization, guidance, and safety of students sponsored by the Kativik School Board.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize weekly activities for sponsored students.
  • Assist with monthly activities for all sponsored students.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students.
  • Facilitate orientation and integration for arriving students.
  • Collaborate with social and academic counselors to enhance quality of life activities.
  • Develop and lead workshops on budgeting, urban living, healthy choices, and more.
  • Provide continuous support and follow-up for students.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required experience and qualifications

Qualifications:

  • DEC or University Degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in at least two (2) of the Board’s working languages (Inuktitut, French, English).
  • Knowledge of Inuit culture, traditions, and history (an asset).
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in group animation and a valid driver’s license (an asset).

Work Schedule:

  • 17.5 hours per week, 3-4 days, with required flexibility.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $47,886 to $79,426 annually, per SPPENOM collective agreement.
  • Prorated benefits include 20 days paid vacation, a two-week holiday period, free parking, employee and family assistance, career development, and a hybrid work schedule.
  • Additional benefits, where applicable, include a summer schedule, northern premium, food transportation allocation, paid relocation, retention and attraction premiums, and up to three (3) round trips to Nunavik.
