Social Development Advisor
Job description
*12-month contract
**35 hours per week (50% at the office and 50% teleworking)
• Contribute to the development of skills of workers in the area of income assistance, pre-employability, and project and community planning.
• Collaborate in the establishment of a regional service continuum and support communities in the development of local income assistance service continuums.
• Act as a liaison between local communities and regional organizations.
• Support First Nations communities and organizations in Quebec for the management and delivery of Income Assistance Program and pre-employability services.
• Contribute to the analysis of the needs of First Nations communities and organizations in their area of expertise and provide support in the drafting of projects, action plans and other documents essential for implementation.
• Collaborate in the identification of training needs as well as the development and adaptation of programs, training materials and tools for First Nations workers, communities and organizations.
• Act as a resource person in their area of expertise: income security, pre-employability, and project and community planning.
• Collaborate in the implementation of the reform of the income security program.
• Ensure monitoring activities regarding income assistance and employability in order to make recommendations for improvement.
Required experience and qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in the field of social services or social sciences
• Two to three years of experience relevant to the position
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations cultures
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365
• Excellent command of French and English (written and spoken)
• Willing to travel throughout Quebec to First Nations communities.
• A valid driver’s license.

Salary
The gross annual salary is between $57,639.40 and $70,980.00 and varies according to the candidate’s experience.
