Job description

35 hours per week (50% at the office and 50% teleworking)

Provide advisory services to First Nations communities and organizations on public health matters, support the development and implementation of public health strategies, and contribute to the development of the skills of those who work in First Nations communities and organizations in the field of community health. More specifically, the Public Health Advisor must:

• Advise First Nations communities and organizations on public health matters.
• Advocate for First Nations interests in public health.
• Coordinate public health projects and initiatives and see to their implementation.
• Support the skills development of community workers in various areas related to public health (development of effective information and awareness tools, promotion of best practices, development and delivery of training, etc.).
• Facilitate the establishment of service corridors for First Nations.
• Conduct strategic monitoring of programs, strategies, and legislation with a view to making recommendations.
• Provide recommendations to the relevant bodies on actions to be taken.
• Develop partnerships with government bodies in the field of public health.
• Draft reports, documents, and memorandums.

Required experience and qualifications

Requirements
• Master’s degree in public health.
• Three to five years of experience in public health.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations cultures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365.
• Excellent command of French and English (written and spoken).
• A valid driver’s licence.

Salary
The gross annual salary ranges from $68,978.00 to $85,012.20 and varies according to the candidate’s experience.
