Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board providing educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of IT Services, the Network Analyst will ensure the continuity of operational services, including Microsoft domains, server environment management, multi-site VPN links, backups, and LAN/WAN infrastructure components. The incumbent will also support the existing team, analyze technological needs, align them with business objectives, and propose infrastructure development or optimization plans while ensuring their execution.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Network & Infrastructure Management
Actively participate in server and network service deployment across all 14 Nunavik communities
Implement and manage firewall systems, intrusion detection, and antivirus solutions
Administer, deploy, monitor, and ensure security of wired and wireless network infrastructure
🔹 Analysis, Optimization & Security
Work on technology architecture and development projects, defining upgrade and optimization plans
Diagnose and troubleshoot network incidents and malfunctions (logs, alerts, diagnostic tools, etc.)
Ensure compliance with industry best practices, especially in security
🔹 Data Protection & Documentation
Maintain data security and backups
Prepare and update documentation (operational procedures, network schematics, system architectures, technical specifications, training manuals, etc.)
Provide high-level technical support
🔹 Additional Responsibilities
Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor
Required experience and qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
(KI may waive this requirement if the candidate is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) and agrees to follow a training program determined by the school board.)
Experience & Skills
✅ Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position
✅ Experience with Microsoft technologies:
Windows Server, SQL Server, DFS, OneDrive, SCCM, SCOM
Active Directory, GPO, Office 365, Azure Web Services, IIS, Exchange, PowerShell
✅ Experience with multi-site LAN and WAN networks, communication protocols, VPN, and firewalls
✅ Experience with virtualization technologies: Hyper-V and VMware
✅ Experience with monitoring and supervision tools
✅ Experience with NAS/SAN storage systems
✅ Knowledge of network services and protocols: DNS, DHCP, WINS, HTTPS, FTP, LDAP, SMB, NFS, CIFS, POP, SMTP, WebDAV, SNMP, ICMP, Telnet, NAT, routing, proxy
✅ Willingness to travel as required across Nunavik communities
✅ Availability for on-call emergency support
✅ Strong analytical, proactive, and independent problem-solving skills
✅ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Assets (Preferred Qualifications)
🔹 Knowledge or experience with:
Mac OS systems, Mozaïk, Microsoft Dynamics
Scripting & programming languages
WatchGuard firewalls, Aruba equipment, cloud technologies
Website management, Mobile Device Management (Mosyle)
Security standards and compliance
🔹 Previous experience in a school board or educational sector
