Job description

🎯 Description:

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is seeking a Credit Management Administrator to support credit collection and administration functions within the Finance Unit. This full-time, indeterminate position plays a key role in managing housing-related credit files, liaising with departments, and ensuring compliance with MCK policies and standards.

✅ Responsibilities:

  • Manage MCK’s housing-related credit, collection, and repayment processes.

  • Develop and enforce credit collection plans and policies.

  • Monitor and review credit files and discrepancies.

  • Conduct credit application reviews and maintain client files.

  • Analyze overdue accounts and recommend repayment strategies or write-offs.

  • Liaise with credit agencies and collaborate with the Housing Unit on collections.

  • Prepare credit reports and work with auditors to ensure compliance with GAAP.

  • Provide credit guidance to internal staff and maintain relationships with external partners.

  • Supervise credit administration support staff.

💰 Salary:

$45,162.00 to $51,012.00 per year, based on experience

🕒 Schedule:

  • 37.5 hours/week

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Nine (9) month probation period

Required experience and qualifications

⭐ Qualifications:

Education & Experience (any of the following):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration + 1 year of relevant experience

  • OR DEC in Commerce + 3 years

  • OR DEP in Accounting or Bookkeeping + 5 years

  • OR High School Diploma + 10 years

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with MCK Housing Program and policies

  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial audits

  • Proficiency in Accpac, Excel, and TEA software

  • Strong credit analysis, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Organizational, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion

  • French and/or Kanien’kéha language skills are assets

  • Willingness to learn Kanien’kéha is required
