🎯 Description:
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq, the school board serving Inuit communities in Nunavik, is seeking two full-time Inuktitut translators. You will play a key role in supporting education by translating curriculum materials and ensuring effective communication between teams in Inuktitut, French, and English.
✅ Responsibilities:
Translate curriculum programs and educational documents (text, audio, visual) into Inuktitut.
Provide accurate translations for students and teachers.
Interpret during meetings to support clear communication.
Collaborate with the administration team to meet deadlines.
💰 Salary: $47,137 – $75,591/year (depending on experience and qualifications, SPPENOM collective agreement).
📅 Employment details:
Regular, full-time position (start date: October 2025).

Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications:
Certificate or diploma in translation or at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Written and oral fluency in Inuktitut.
Proficiency in French or English.
Familiarity with education-related terminology.
Computer skills (Adobe, Microsoft Word, Publishing).
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Willingness and ability to travel as required.
Applicants covered under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) may be considered with a training plan.
