Job description

🎯 Description:
The HRIS & Payroll Analyst is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) while supporting the Payroll Specialist. The role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, provides analysis and reporting to support decision-making, and contributes to improving HRIS processes.

Responsibilities:
HRIS Administration:

  • Maintain and update employee data in the HRIS with accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Support HR system updates, enhancements, and implementations.

  • Troubleshoot HRIS issues with vendors or Information Management.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for HRIS inquiries across the organization.

  • Provide user support, training, and documentation for HRIS processes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve HRIS efficiency and accuracy.

  • Collect, analyze, and translate HR data into actionable metrics.

  • Prepare reports and maintain dashboards to facilitate decision-making.

  • Communicate essential HR information to employees in a timely and accurate manner.

Payroll Support:

  • Validate timesheets, earnings, deductions, and benefits.

  • Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions and other payments.

  • Respond professionally to payroll-related inquiries.

  • Generate regular and ad hoc HR and payroll reports for management, finance, and compliance.

  • Assist with year-end reporting, audits, and filings.

  • Support the HR team on special projects.

  • Act as backup to the Payroll Specialist, administering weekly payroll as needed

💰 Salary: $58,227 – $65,773.50 per year (37.5 hours per week)

Required experience and qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field + 3 years relevant experience OR

  • DEP in Accounting + 5 years relevant experience OR

  • High School Diploma + 7 years relevant experience.

  • Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) certification and/or HRIS experience is an asset.

  • Knowledge of payroll, accounting, and Canadian tax laws.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.

  • Knowledge of Ceridian/Dayforce HRIS is an asset.

  • Kanien’kéha and French language skills are an asset; willingness to learn Kanien’kéha.
