🎯 Job Description:
Reporting to the Assistant Director General, the Center Director is the lead administrator of the school in the community and is responsible for all aspects of school management and related services. Serves as the key link between the community and the school board, overseeing local operations and staff.
✅ Responsibilities:
Implement school board policies and local governance directives
Maintain liaison between the community and the school board
Manage and supervise facilities including school, residences, workshops, warehouse, and equipment
Act as secretary-treasurer on the local education committee
Supervise, mentor, and manage staff
Plan and manage school board activities in the community
💰 Salary:
$100,606 – $134,139 annually, based on qualifications and experience
Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (minimum 3 years) or equivalent experience in senior administrative roles in a school board
Proficiency in Inuktitut and either English or French
At least 3 years of experience in administration or education (or equivalent recognized by the school board)
Knowledge of the Quebec school system and Chapter 17 of the CBJNQ (asset)
Permanent residence of at least 10 years in a Nunavik community
