A key role in supporting growth and early childhood education development
Sachidun Childcare Centre, located in Kawawachikamach, is seeking an experienced Administrative Director to oversee day-to-day operations, develop strong educational plans, and support the expansion of the childcare center. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of the center and providing high-quality education to children in the community.
Main Responsibilities
📚 Filing Systems: Organize, maintain, and ensure easy access to important records and documents
🗂️ Administrative Support: Assist with daily operations, including scheduling, correspondence, and general administrative tasks
📈 Educational Plans: Create and implement educational strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory standards
🏗️ Infrastructure and Materials: Oversee the inventory of childcare supplies, ensure their availability, and assist with infrastructure management following the expansion
👨👩👧👦 Staffing: Facilitate recruitment of new Childcare Educators, provide training, and foster employee retention
📋 Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Ministère de la Famille regulations, including documentation, reporting, and operational standards
💵 Operational Budgets: Prepare, manage, and track annual and project-specific budgets for efficient use of financial resources
📝 Miscellaneous: Other tasks as assigned by the Board of Directors or Executive Director
Required experience and qualifications
Required Qualifications
🎓 Degree: A recognized degree in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, or a related field, OR 3+ years of leadership experience in childcare management
💼 Experience: Proven experience in managing budgets, payroll, and staff scheduling
📊 Financial Skills: Budget management and planning expertise
🏥 Health & Safety Compliance: Familiarity with childcare health and safety standards
💬 Language Skills: Strong spoken and written English; knowledge of Naskapi, Innu, or French is an asset
🤝 Indigenous Experience: Indigenous identity and/or experience working with Indigenous or northern communities is an asset
💻 Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
