Permanent position – 35 hours per week (50% on-site, 50% remote work)

Your Role as a Wellness Advisor – Addiction and Violence Prevention

  • Support First Nations communities and organizations in developing and implementing culturally appropriate initiatives, projects, and activities for addiction prevention, ensuring proper follow-ups.

  • Act as a resource person for First Nations communities, organizations, and partners regarding addiction prevention.

  • Assist communities in managing wellness projects, including needs assessment, planning, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation.

  • Provide training and support to workers, adapting and developing awareness materials and tools.

  • Contribute to implementing and monitoring regional strategic plans and developing local action plans.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of various government action plans.

  • Support the implementation of the First Nations mental wellness continuum.

  • Prepare reports and documents related to projects and activities.

  • Monitor wellness-related activities to enhance expertise and provide recommendations.

  • Establish and maintain a network of contacts with First Nations organizations, partners, and government representatives.

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in various meetings.

• Participate in the development and implementation of various government action plans.
• Support the implementation of the First Nations mental wellness continuum.
• Write various reports and documents according to the requirements of the projects and activities.
• Ensure monitoring activities focused on wellness to enrich their expertise and issue recommendations.
• Establish and maintain a network of contacts with First Nations organizations and partners and the various counterparts of the levels of government.
• Coordinate, facilitate and participate in various meetings.

Required experience and qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in addiction or violence prevention.

  • Experience in project management.

  • Knowledge of programs offered by the Quebec health and social services network, as well as First Nations community and organizational programs.

  • Understanding of First Nations cultures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.

  • Excellent command of French and English (written and spoken).

  • Willingness to travel throughout Quebec to First Nations communities.

  • A valid driver’s license.

Salary & Benefits

  • Gross annual salary: $56,365.40 – $69,414.80, based on experience.

  • Start date: As soon as possible.
