Job description

The translator’s mandate is to meet the linguistic needs of the entire Commission. As such, the incumbent translates documents from French to English, helps produce and revise English documents, and advises and supports staff in delivering quality written work. The translator also contributes to developing and updating writing support tools and language services procedures.

Required experience and qualifications

  • Do you understand Quebec’s First Nations and Inuit realities well and want to contribute to their professional development?
  • Do you understand translation methods well and have excellent writing skills in French and English?
  • Are you organized, autonomous, rigorous, skilled in research and able to work under pressure?
  • Are you proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and familiar with translation software, especially LogiTerm?
  • Do you have experience and a university degree in translation or another relevant field?
