📅 Employment Type: Full-time, Indeterminate (9-month probation period)

🎯 Position Summary

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is seeking a proactive and strategic Tioweró:ton Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations and long-term development of the Tioweró:ton Territory. This critical role involves supervising staff, coordinating special projects, implementing land-related policies, and ensuring effective and sustainable management of the Territory on behalf of the community.

Key Responsibilities

🔧 Operational Planning & Management

  • Develop and implement operational plans for Tioweró:ton in collaboration with the General Manager of Lands Operations.

  • Supervise staff, set performance expectations, and coordinate training.

  • Manage communications, including updates to the Tioweró:ton Territory Facebook page.

  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and timely payment of invoices.

  • Act as a liaison between the MCK, committees, and other government bodies.

🛠 Land Management & Project Development

  • Administer land use policies and coordinate the Tioweró:ton Committee.

  • Evaluate and approve cabin construction applications in accordance with regulations.

  • Coordinate maintenance, equipment, and vehicle needs for the Territory.

  • Lead special projects and prepare related budget submissions and reports.

Required experience and qualifications

Qualifications

🧾 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with 1 year of relevant experience, OR

  • DEC in Social Science or Business Administration with 3 years of relevant experience, OR

  • High school diploma with 5 years of relevant experience in management and administration.

🧠 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of land-related policies and Kahnawà:ke’s legislative processes.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and financial management abilities.

  • Skilled in research and policy development.

  • Professional, discreet, and respectful in all interactions.

Assets

  • Fluency in Kanien’kéha and/or French is an asset.

  • Willingness to learn the Kanien’kéha language.

💰 Salary

$1,327.50 to $1,457.25 per week (commensurate with experience)

🕒 Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
37.5 hours per week
Travel to Tioweró:ton Territory required bi-weekly or as needed.
