📍 Location: Kahnawà:ke (with regular travel to Tioweró:ton Territory)

🎯 Description

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is seeking a full-time, Tioweró:ton Manager to oversee operational planning, project management, and the coordination of activities within the Tioweró:ton Territory. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the effective management of lands operations and fostering community engagement.

Responsibilities

Operational Development

  • Develop and implement operational plans and regulations for Tioweró:ton

  • Recommend programs and processes for effective land management

  • Assist in securing program funding at various levels

Operations Management

  • Supervise Tioweró:ton staff

  • Oversee budgeting, communications, invoicing, and training

  • Approve maintenance, equipment needs, and cabin construction applications

  • Act as liaison between MCK, committees, and other governments

  • Administer the Tioweró:ton Policy and manage related procedures

Project Management

  • Plan, develop, and coordinate special projects

  • Prepare budget submissions and conduct budget analysis

💰 Salary

$1,327.50 to $1,457.25 per week, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Workload: 37.5 hours per week

  • Travel to Tioweró:ton bi-weekly and as needed

Required experience and qualifications

Qualifications

Education & Experience (One of the following required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field + 1 year relevant experience

  • DEC in Social Sciences or Business Administration + 3 years relevant experience

  • High School Diploma + 5 years relevant experience in admin/management

Key Skills

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills (including remote team oversight)

  • Experience in land policy and operations

  • Knowledge of MCK and Tioweró:ton procedures and legislative processes

  • Excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and accounting skills

  • Research skills and discretion with sensitive information

  • Willingness to learn Kanien’kéha; knowledge of Kanien’kéha or French is an asset
