Job description

The Montreal Diet Dispensary, whose mission is to intervene through perinatal social nutrition with pregnant women in vulnerable situations, is looking for a project manager – Aboriginal clients.

Under the supervision of the Director of Programs and Social Impact, the Project Manager – Aboriginal Clientele – is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the project(s) assigned to him/her in relation to the Dispensary’s perinatal social nutrition mission.

• Full-time temporary contract (35 hours per week, 7 hours per day)
• Minimum duration of 12 months, with possibility of extension
• Hybrid mode: remote work and office presence, depending on the measures in place.
• Start date: as soon as possible.

Project management (80 %)
o Support the 2023-2026 project to provide services to the Aboriginal clientele of Greater Montreal::
– Mapping of the organizations offering services to the Aboriginal clientele of Greater Montreal;
– Develop connections and maintain relationships with partners, plan and facilitate meetings by promoting a climate of respect, trust and collaboration with all concerned parties;
– Develop a portrait of the needs of the partners and their clientele;
– Propose, develop and implement actions in line with the Dispensary’s mission and the services it offers;
– Participate in the development of content and the revision/adaptation of our practices to better respond to the realities of the Aboriginal clientele.

o Support the planning, implementation and evaluation of the NAFB (Nutritious And Affordable Food Basket) 2023-2024 project for the Aboriginal communities component, in close collaboration with the NAFB Project Manager :
– Identify best practices for a collaborative approach with Aboriginal communities
– Design a pilot project with the expert committee to test different versions of the baskets with the Aboriginal communities involved;
– Contribute to the implementation and assessment of the pilot project in collaboration with all stakeholders, including academic and research partners.

o Contribute to the creation and implementation of work, communication and evaluation plans;
o Prepare budget estimates and participate in budget monitoring within established guidelines;
o Support the rendition of accounts, collaborate in the writing of reports and maintain links with funders;
o Accompany and follow-up on the work of external consultants/providers in the implementation of the work plan.
o Assist in the supervision and mentoring of interns.

Consulting (20%)
o Contribute to the development of the internal team’s expertise on good practices in the area of intervention with Aboriginal clientele.
o Participate in other activities in collaboration with the team and in relation to his/her areas of expertise.

Other responsibilities
o Provide support to the daily activities of the Dispensary (food and clothing assistance, reception of donations, occasional purchases, tidying and cleaning of the premises, etc.).

Required experience and qualifications

• University 1st cycle diploma in health sciences or social sciences in a discipline considered relevant;
• University 2nd cycle diploma in a discipline deemed relevant considered an asset;
• 3 to 5 years experience in project management with Aboriginal communities;
• Excellent oral and written skills in French and English, knowledge of another language is an asset;
• Knowledge of the Office suite and Google;
