🎯 Job Description:
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is seeking a Pedagogical Consultant to support the development and implementation of inclusive practices and tools for students with special needs. Working under the Assistant Director of Complementary and Compassionate Services, the consultant will collaborate with special education technicians, teachers, and professionals to enhance student support services.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver in-person and remote training for special education technicians, teachers, and pedagogical consultants.
Develop educational materials for students with special needs.
Assist in creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Provide tools and strategies to support students with emotional or behavioral difficulties.
Observe classrooms and provide on-site support.
Develop culturally relevant diagnostic and adaptation tools.
Support scheduling and optimization of special education technician tasks.
Participate in school EHDAA (students with special needs) committees.
Maintain regular communication with local special education teams.
Support implementation of integration strategies in collaboration with external partners.

Required experience and qualifications
🧠 Required Qualifications:
Valid teaching diploma in the province of Québec.
At least 5 years of experience working with students with special needs.
At least 5 years of experience working in Nunavik.
Strong communication skills (oral and written) with youth and adults.
Ability to work independently and show professional maturity.
KI may waive the above qualifications for beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement who agree to follow a prescribed training program.
📌 Additional Requirements:
Fluency in at least two of KI’s official languages: Inuktitut, French, or English.
Knowledge of diagnostic and adaptation tools in Inuktitut.
Willingness to travel frequently in Nunavik.
Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
