Employment Counsellor

Job description

The Employment Counsellor is responsible—through individual counselling—for helping urban Indigenous clients in developing their potential and entering the labour market. The incumbent provides information on the educational environment and labour market, assists in the planning, implementation and follow-up of programs and services, and ensures effective and professional communication with various stakeholders. 

Required experience and qualifications

• Do you want to work for an organization whose mission is the personal and professional development of First Nations? 
• Would you like to help urban Indigenous clients in the Outaouais region find sustainable employment? 
• Are you interested in local training issues, personal development, and career planning?  
• Are you a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a knack for relationship building? 
• Are you organized and autonomous, have good judgment, and can you handle a heavier workload during busy periods?
• Are you fluent in French and English?  
• Do you have experience and/or a diploma in social work, special education, or another relevant field?
