Communications Advisor
Job description
*12-month contract
*35 hours per week (50% at the office and 50% teleworking)
Ensure effective communication between the FNQLHSSC and the outside world, as well as support employees and managers of the organization to establish effective communication strategies adapted to their needs. More specifically, you will:
• Develop, update and carry out communication and awareness campaign strategies aimed at promoting the organization’s projects, activities and initiatives.
• Collaborate in the implementation of the communications component for various projects.
• Advise the organization on strategies, best practices and tools that can be developed to better meet the needs of the clientele.
• Plan, write, review and disseminate the organization’s official communications, including documents of a strategic or political nature.
• Update the communication policy according to their area of expertise and ensure the application of organizational communication strategies and the uniformity and homogeneity of the texts to be published, documents and various communication tools.
• Implement specific projects related to the field of communications according to the needs of the organization.
• Create and update communication tools.
• Maintain their network with journalists and ensure the necessary follow-ups.
• Collaborate in the planning, organization and holding of activities and events organized by the FNQLHSSC.
• Represent the organization at regional and national meetings in their field in order to promote and support the interests of First Nations.
• Play an advisory role for the organization in the development of communication plans and communication strategies for projects requiring communication activities.
• Analyze needs and requests for communication projects and activities and advise the various players of the organization on communication strategies, best practices and tools.
Required experience and qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in communications.
• Three to five years of experience relevant to the position.
• Good knowledge of various social media and related management tools.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations cultures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 as well as Adobe suite software.
• Excellent command of French and English (written and spoken).
• A valid driver’s license.

Salary
The gross annual salary is between $61,042.80 and $75,220.60 and varies according to the candidate’s experience.
