The Asset Support Officer will work under the supervision of the Technical Services Coordinator and in collaboration with our various trades. They will have the incredible opportunity to work and live on Grosse Île, surrounded by the river and a unique history.
Their key responsibilities will be to provide technical support based on established asset maintenance plans and to ensure the smooth operation of public services. Assets include road infrastructure, bridges, historic buildings and landscapes, recreational facilities, trails, marine facilities, vehicles and heavy equipment, as well as drinking water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater systems, power supply systems, climate control systems, radio communication systems and oil storage tanks. The officer will be called upon to plan, carry out and document work, and to provide technical advice to the team.

Type of job: Full time
Work schedule: 40 h per week (compressed schedule of 8 working days, followed by 6 days off)
Duration of employment: Fixed-term contract (12 months), with possibility of extension or permanent appointment
Annual salary: $59,291 to $74,534 + an isolated post premium of $2.03/hour
Required experience and qualifications
Language requirements
• French essential
Education
• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Conduite de procédés de traitement de l’eau [Water treatment process control] or Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Technologie de l’eau [Water technology]
• Complete surface water/groundwater treatment and water distribution systems certificate
• Mechanized wastewater treatment certificate
Work experience
• Three years of recent and significant experience in maintenance work
Knowledge
• Knowledge of water treatment standards and procedures
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety and plant safety standards
Abilities
• Planning and organizing work

• Operating, inspecting and maintaining water treatment equipment
