Unit: Public Relations Unit
Employer: Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke
Location: Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory, QC
Duration: Summer Employment – Full-time, 10 weeks (June 9 – August 15, 2025)
Salary: $17.00/hour (KSSEP RATE – CEGEP LEVEL C)
Hours of Operation: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 30 hours per week
Deadline for Application: May 12, 2025, 4:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Scheduling: Develop engaging content tailored to youth for the MCK Instagram page. Create content schedules and maintain consistent posting.
Engagement Analysis: Monitor social media engagement, analyze metrics, and report on successes and challenges.
Video and Graphics: Use Canva and Adobe software to create graphics and videos for posts.
Collaboration and Community Engagement: Work with the Public Information Officer to ensure content follows MCK branding guidelines. Attend events and activities to engage with youth and create media content.
Content Localization: Collaborate with the Tsi Niionkwarihò:ten Tsitewaháhara’n Language and Culture Training Office to deliver content in Kanien’ké:ha.
Networking: Build relationships with youth and community organizations, collaborating on youth-related content.
Required experience and qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Must be registered with Tewatohnhi’saktha’s KSSEP Program 2025.
Must be a student in High School, CEGEP, or University, continuing in the fall semester.
Experience in social media management and content creation.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially Instagram.
Proficiency in Canva and Adobe software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Passion for engaging with youth and the community.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to communicate in Kanien’ké:ha and French is an asset.
Working Environment:
Five-day work week, performed in an office environment.
Moderate stress due to workload.
Occasional overtime during evenings and weekends.
