Child and Family Services Analyst-Advisor
Job description
*35 hours per week (50% at the office and 50% teleworking)
Advise and support First Nations communities and organizations regarding the management of youth protection and first-line services while contributing to the skill development of social service workers in youth protection. More specifically, the Analyst-Advisor must:
• Act as a resource person for youth protection among First Nations communities and organizations.
• Support staff from First Nations communities and organizations in their management of youth protection and first-line preventive services.
• Collaborate in following up on the reports produced as part of various commissions of inquiry or bills.
• Produce reports, analyses or any other documents deemed relevant.
• Prepare, coordinate and facilitate, if necessary, internal and external meetings and committees, in addition to ensuring representation of First Nations youth protection projects during events.
• Carry out monitoring activities in matters of youth protection to enrich expertise and make recommendations.
• Collaborate in the creation of information and awareness tools in collaboration with the communications sector.
• Create educational materials and facilitate training sessions.
• Offer information sessions on the interpretation of different laws relating to youth protection while popularizing the information.
Required experience and qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminology, psychoeducation or any other relevant field.
• Three to five years of experience in youth protection.
• Knowledge of the Youth Protection Act and An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis
children, youth and families.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations cultures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, SOQUIJ, CanLII and PIJ.
• Excellent command of French and English (written and spoken).
• Willing to travel throughout Quebec to First Nations communities.
• A valid driver’s licence.

Salary
The gross annual salary is between $62,407.80 and $76,913.20 and varies according to the candidate’s experience.
