🎯 Job Description:
Under the authority of the Mohawk Council of Kanesatake and in collaboration with the Kanehsatà:ke Education Center, the Resource Teacher reports directly to the Principal of Ratihénte High School. The Resource Teacher is responsible for providing direct instructional support to students experiencing learning challenges, with a strong emphasis on inclusive education practices. The role contributes to student success by delivering specialized instruction and collaborating with other school staff.

✅ Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored educational support to students with learning difficulties
Implement best practices in inclusive education
Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to meet individual student needs
Maintain documentation and participate in team meetings
Support the academic development of students through direct instruction and intervention
Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Requirements:
Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Special Education, or a Bachelor’s degree with a teaching license (brevet) and equivalent experience
Knowledge of best practices in inclusive and differentiated education
Ability to support students’ diverse developmental and academic needs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of Kanien’kehá:ka culture, language, and history is considered an asset
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Conflict resolution skills and team collaboration ability
Strong organizational and time management skills
💰 Salary:
According to the Quebec Treasury Board Salary Scales
