🎯 Job Opportunity: Pro Shop Attendant – Sports & Recreation Unit
📍 Location: Kahnawà:ke Sports Complex
📅 Duration: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (June 23, 2025 – March 31, 2025)
🕓 Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, based on Sports Complex activities and event needs
💰 Salary: $647.25 to $730.50 per week

📝 Job Summary
Reporting to the General Manager of Sports Complex & Facilities, the Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for operating the Pro Shop and assisting with various functions at the Kahnawà:ke Sports Complex. This role combines customer service, retail operation, facility maintenance, and event support.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Pro Shop Operations
Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner
Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system, handle cash and card payments accurately
Maintain accurate records of daily sales and inventory
Promote and monitor Pro Shop sales
Safely operate the Dupli Skate skate sharpening machine
Assist concession operators when needed
Maintain a clean, organized retail environment
Sports Complex Support
Perform light cleaning and maintenance duties
Clean dressing rooms between team usages and at the end of the evening
Open and close the facility for scheduled events
Remove hockey nets before the Zamboni enters the ice
Ensure all doors are locked and systems shut down at closing
Enforce facility rules (e.g., smoking ban, public skate hours, concession rules)
🧱 Working Conditions
Work is primarily indoors
Must be available for evening and weekend shifts
Occasional overtime
Must be able to lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and 100 lbs occasionally
Moderate physical demands and potential exposure to moving machinery or tools
Required experience and qualifications
🎓 Requirements
Education & Experience
High School Diploma
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience
Basic First Aid certification required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
POS and cash handling experience
Well-organized and detail-oriented
Good character and strong work ethic
Maintains confidentiality and handles duties professionally
Willingness to learn the Kanien’kéha language (an asset if already spoken)
Knowledge of French and/or English is an asset
