Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Field Assistant to support our mining exploration team during prospecting and regional geological mapping traverses. The primary responsibility of the Field Assistant will be to assist geologists in collecting and recording geological samples, maintaining field equipment, and supporting day-to-day logistics in remote field conditions.
Required experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with rock, soil, and grab sampling under the supervision of geologists.
2. Carry, prepare, and organize field equipment and sampling materials.
3. Record sample locations and field notes as directed.
4. Handle sample bags, labels, and documentation with care and accuracy.
5. Maintain a clean and organized fieldwork environment.
Requirements:
1. Physically fit and able to work long hours in rugged outdoor conditions.
2. Willingness to walk long distances through uneven terrain (bush, swamps, rocky areas).
3. Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions precisely.
4. Basic knowledge of GPS and maps is an asset.
5. Previous field experience (e.g., forestry, mining, environmental) is an asset, but not required.
6. Safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices.
