Employment Counsellor

Job description

The Employment Counsellor is responsible, through individual counselling, for helping urban Indigenous clients in developing their potential and entering the labour market. The incumbent provides information on the educational environment and labour market, assists in the planning, implementation and follow-up of programs and services, and ensures effective and professional communication with various stakeholders.

Required experience and qualifications

• Are you interested in local training issues, personal development, and career planning?
• Are you a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a knack for relationship building?
• Are you organized and autonomous, have good judgment, and can you handle a heavier workload during busy periods?
• Are you fluent in French?
• Do you have experience a Bachelor’s degree in social work or any other relevant field? (Any combination of college education and relevant experience may be considered.)
