Development Officer – Adult Education and Vocational Training

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Description:

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq, the school board serving the 14 communities of Nunavik, is seeking a dynamic Development Officer to support the implementation of training programs tailored to the needs of the northern job market. This is a stimulating full-time, permanent position based in Montreal, with frequent travel to Nunavik.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate training programs in collaboration with the Adult Education and Vocational Training department.

  • Manage workforce development programs, particularly those sponsored by the Kativik Regional Government (KRG).

  • Organize logistics and develop budgets for training sessions.

  • Participate in pedagogical meetings and employability sessions with community and administrative partners.

  • Travel frequently to Nunavik.

  • Perform any other related duties required by the supervisor.

Required experience and qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Proficiency in at least two of the school board’s three working languages (Inuktitut, French, English).

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Skilled in report writing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with community employment needs and regional stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of adult education, vocational training, and corporate training services.

Note: Priority may be given to beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA), provided they are willing to follow a training program as determined by the school board.

Salary:

Between $49,456 and $87,626 annually, based on experience and qualifications, according to the SPPENOM collective agreement.
