Community Project Advisor
Job description
The Community Project Advisor must:
Advise and support communities in the development, implementation and monitoring of concerted action projects aimed at the fight against poverty and social exclusion.
Act as a liaison between local settings and regional organizations and support the development of strategic partnerships.
Act as a resource person in social development for the communities as well as for the organization by making their expertise available to all.
Promote the First Nations component of the Fonds québécois d’initiatives sociales (FQIS) in order to mobilize the communities.
Develop and maintain a network of contacts with First Nations and Quebec organizations and partners, identify potential collaborative linkages between different players and organize networking meetings.
Establish and consolidate, with local and regional resources, links in terms of information and expertise that could benefit the communities.
Contribute to the action plans of local groups by providing information on the directions, frameworks and tools developed in a joint fashion by the partners concerned and the FNQLHSSC.
Support communities in drafting projects, action plans and other documents that are essential to project implementation (e.g., awareness raising and management tools, etc.).
Support the communities in the implementation of the different phases of their projects.
Respond to ad hoc requests for help by offering support and advice to assist community workers.
Collaborate in identifying the training needs of community workers and make recommendations in this area.
Support the development of skills in their area of expertise among the communities.
Liaise with other projects carried out by the FNQLHSSC in order to maximize the actions and effects of the projects.
Participate in meetings, committees and round tables with various partners related to their field.
Write the reports, meeting summaries and necessary official documents for which they are responsible.
Represent the organization at regional and national meetings in their field in order to promote and support the interests of the First Nations in Quebec and Labrador.
Required experience and qualifications
Prerequisites and hiring conditions
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to social sciences or administration.
Three years of job-related experience.
Experience in community mobilization.
Knowledge of the networks related to the field of social development.
Written and spoken French and English at an advanced level.
Knowledge and understanding of First Nations cultures.
Knowledge of the social development programs offered to First Nations.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365.
Available to travel and work according to a flexible schedule when required.
A valid driver’s license.

Salary
The gross annual salary is between $54,454.40 and $67,067.00 and varies according to the candidate’s experience.
