Administrative Technician, Accounting and Finance
Job description
Under the authority of the financial services coordinator, you will support accounting and budgetary operations as well as the accounting department by carrying out various tasks, reconciliations and financial analyses.
Your responsibilities will include to:
• Carry out the management and configuration of accounting software data;
• Post adjustment entries;
• Carry out period closures;
• Make periodic remittances of deductions at source;
• Monitor GBM and IT leases/contracts;
• Make purchase orders and carry out contract follow-ups;
• Manage and remit consumption taxes;
• Carry out bank reconciliations and deposits;
• Analyze balance sheet and results accounts;
• Participate in the preparation of annual financial reports;
• Develop financial monitoring reports;
• Monitor the budget;
• Manage accounts payable;
• Perform accounts receivable
• Make salary transfers
• Monitor and reconcile invoices from health centers and community organizations
• Follow up on fixed asset reimbursement requests;
• Monitor and account for construction projects
• Monitor projects administered by the Société québécoise des infrastructures
• Analyze the liquidity of the capital fund
• Carry out borrowing margin authorizations (AS-417 and AS-418)
• Participate in the production of the quarterly financial statement (AS-617)
• Perform any other tasks requested by the finance coordinator
Required experience and qualifications
• DEC in administrative techniques or in a discipline relating to the position. However, any other relevant training and experience may be considered;
• Experience of at least two (2) years in similar functions;
• Northern experience, an asset;
• Good oral and written knowledge of French and English. Knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset;
• Good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Word and Excel;
• Demonstrate rigor and discretion;
• Knowledge of Espresso and SBFR accounting software, an important asset;
• Customer service and customer approach.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
• Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week)
• Position established in Kuujjuaq
• Salary according to the rules issued by the MSSS ($24.21/h to $32.32/h)
• Northern benefits: retention bonus ($6,000/year), remoteness ($10,627/year) and cost of living ($3,085/year) and, if hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, accommodation provided to low cost, moving and storage expenses reimbursed, annual personal outings from Kuujjuaq to point of employment provided, etc.
