Job description

Wapikoni, an Indigenous organization that promotes the creative expression of First Peoples while respecting their narrative sovereignty, is seeking facilitator-intervenors to support Indigenous participants in their project creation within its mobile and virtual studios.

Position: Facilitator-Intervenor
Workplace:

  • Mobile Studio: Indigenous community (to be determined)
  • Virtual Studio: Remote work, virtual mode
    Contract Duration:
  • Mobile Studio: 4 to 5 weeks, mainly between May and October 2025
  • Virtual Studio: 75-hour contract over 8 weeks (various periods between August and March)

Main Responsibilities:

Mobile Studio

  • Facilitate participant support in project creation.
  • Promote activities and encourage participation.
  • Strengthen relationships with key community stakeholders and institutions.
  • Supervise the local coordinator.
  • Organize and manage the logistics of the final screening.

Virtual Studio

  • Facilitate the support of two participants in their project creation.
  • Coordinate follow-up meetings and motivate cohort members.
  • Organize and lead cohort meetings, including the final screening.
  • Collaborate in weekly follow-up meetings with team members.

Required experience and qualifications

Requirements:

  • Degree in intervention or related field (or relevant experience).
  • At least two years of experience in social intervention (or relevant experience).
  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities in Quebec and Canada.
  • Experience in Indigenous communities, with youth, or abroad (an asset).
  • Ability to build trust, empathy, and active listening.
  • Interpersonal communication skills and teamwork.
  • Organizational skills, leadership, and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in French and/or English (knowledge of an Indigenous language, an asset).
  • Driver’s license and road experience (mandatory for Mobile Studio).

Conditions:

  • Mobile Studio: Full-time contract of 4 to 5 weeks.
  • Virtual Studio: 75-hour contract over 8 weeks.
