Job description

Nunavimmi Ilagiit Papatauvinga is an Inuit-led organization that will develop a continuum of youth and family services based on Inuit knowledge and culture and ways. Currently under the umbrella of the Nunavik Board of Health and Social Services, NIP is set to become independent in the coming months.

DESCRIPTION
The Head of the YFSR Program is accountable for leading the development and implementation of a new front-line service designed to intake and assess all youth and family related services requests; and to refer them towards the most appropriate social services available and ensure that those are being delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set program standards, processes, forms and protocols (including emergency response plans), as well as procedures to monitor their compliance;
• Develop action plan and oversee gradual implementation throughout Nunavik;
• Provide strategic advice on service gaps and service integration at the community and regional level;
• Provide leadership on fostering collaborations among all service providers and governmental authorities at the community, regional and provincial levels;
• Provide direction to the operational team in charge of delivering the services;
• Develop comprehensive recruitment and training program for new NIP intervenors
• Supervise a team 15-20 Inuit intervenors;
• Put in place, support and follow individual performance objectives for employees under his or her responsibility;
• Assess capital resource and workforce requirements for program operation and contribute to the development of a detailed budget;
• Ensure budget monitoring and reporting.

Required experience and qualifications

• Experience in project management;
• Strong leadership;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Problem-solving abilities;
• Knowledge of Inuktitut an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week);
• Based in Nunavik or Telework with frequent travel within Nunavik territory;
• Salary to be determined.

Northern benefits: retention bonus ($6,000/year), remoteness bonus ($10,627/year), cost-of-living bonus ($3,870/year) and if hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing provided, moving and storage expenses reimbursed, personal annual outings from Kuujjuaq to point of hire, etc.
