Job description
Child & Family Services Anicinape Mino Obigiwasin is a non-profit corporation founded on July 4, 2019 by four Anicinape communities (Kitcisakik, Pikogan, Long Point and Lac-Simon). It provides child and family services, specifically youth protection, to preserve the cultural identity and dignity of these children and families. Mino Obigiwasin has its own by-laws and policies governing its affairs.
POSITION SUMMARY
In keeping with MINO OBIGIWASIN Child and Families Anicinape services’s mission, orientations, values and general policies, the General Manager performs all management functions (planning, organization, direction, control and evaluation) for all programs and resources to ensure the organization’s efficient operation. He establishes strategic planning and reports on its implementation to the Board of Directors. He plays an active role in the organization’s development by establishing and maintaining bonds of trust with partners, communities and customers. The General Manager is fully responsible for the overall management of the organization, ensuring that MINO OBIGIWASIN’s mission and objectives are achieved.

Required experience and qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate degree in social sciences or 10 years’ experience in child and family services.
Experience working with First Nations.
Bilingualism (English and French).
Theoretical and practical knowledge of the following is an asset:
– Youth Protection Act;
– Adoption and guardianship;
– Youth Criminal Justice Act and the Act respecting health and social services (LSSSS);
– Principles and application of C-92 (ch.24 LC)).
