Coordinator – Ilagiit Councils
Job description
Nunavimmi Ilagiit Papatauvinga (NIP) est un organisme dirigé par les Inuits dont la mission est de développer un continuum des services adaptés à leur culture, à la jeunesse et aux familles du Nunavik. Présentement sous l’égide de la RRSSSN, NIP est appelé à devenir indépendant au cours des prochains mois.
DESCRIPTION
Under the authority of the Assistant Director, Inuit Values and Practices, the Ilagiit Councils Coordinator will be responsible for the promotion, the on-going improvement and the day-to day management of the Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Facilitation of Ilagiit Councils
• Training and supporting a team of Ilagiit Council facilitators
• Planning and implementing relevant follow-up procedures
• Coordination of all Ilagiit Council requests
• Management of all logistical and financial aspects of the program
• Creating and implementing a communication plan to promote the services throughout Nunavik
• Acting as liaison with Youth Protection and Social Services personnel
• Implementing and overseeing the on-going evaluation of the services rendered to track long-term results and ensure that the program meets the needs of the population.
Required experience and qualifications
• Autonomous, dynamic and organized
• Comfortable working with groups
• Able to create and maintain a good working relationship with partners
• Familiar with Inuit culture and fluent in Inuktitut
• Availability to travel inside the region
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week);
• Based in Nunavik;
• Salary to be determined.
Northern benefits: retention bonus ($6,000/year), remoteness bonus ($10,627/year), cost-of-living bonus ($3,870/year) and if hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing provided, moving and storage expenses reimbursed, personal annual outings from Kuujjuaq to point of hire, etc.
