Job description

*12-month contract
**35 hours per week (50% at the office and 50% teleworking)

• Open employee files in the payroll system and update the files based on changes that occur during employment.
• Enter data required for payroll preparation and payment and ensure provincial and federal source deductions.
• Apply the Human Resources Management Policy in the processing of payroll, benefits, etc.
• Answer questions from employees, team leaders and managers regarding timesheets.
• Make registrations and changes for anything related to group insurance and the pension plan (Native Benefits Plan).
• Keep up to date the employees’ time banks (vacation, sick leave or personal leave, overtime, etc.) as well as the various human resources information systems (human resources database, emergency contact list, etc.).
• Produce the administrative documents required during events in the employees’ organizational life (work leave, maternity or parental leave, end of employment, etc.).
• Prepare year-end statements (T4 slips and RL-1 slips) and year-end payroll entries.
• Validate balance sheets relating to payroll and advances.
• Provide support as needed for the human resources department’s administrative activities.
• Collaborate in the development and updating of the organization’s administrative tools (e.g., electronic timesheet, travel tool).

Required experience and qualifications

• Diploma of college studies in accounting and management.
• Three to five years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and accounting software (e.g., Avantage).
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations cultures.
• Excellent command of one of the two official languages and ability to function in the other language.

Salary
The gross annual salary ranges from $52,033.80 to $64,136.80 and varies according to the candidate’s experience.
