Technician Accounting
Job description
🎯 Description:
JCCBI is seeking a Technician, Accounting to join its Finance Directorate on a temporary basis (until March 31, 2027). This full-time position is responsible for supporting financial and general accounting activities, invoicing, budget monitoring, and account review to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with public accountability requirements.
✅ Responsibilities:
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements.
Prepare end-of-period and audit files.
Conduct accounting validations and provide explanations.
Prepare trial balances and financial/statistical reports.
Support accounts payable team activities.
Verify invoices against purchase orders/contracts.
Process invoices, payment requests, and expense reports.
Prepare payment proposals and complete payment cycles (EFT or check).
Monitor accounts and prepare invoices.
Prepare bank deposits and provide allocation documentation.
Analyze prepaid expenses monthly.
Participate in monthly financial accounting tasks.
Ensure continuity of supplier account activities.
Reconcile contract holdbacks and validate General Ledger postings.
Fill out and submit governmental forms (GST/QST) and prepare tax forms.
Perform bank reconciliations.
Support process optimization within the accounting department.
Prepare accounting and budget files as needed.
Create tracking tools and files.
Support analysts, financial operations manager, and budget manager.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting and tax regulations.
Carry out other related tasks as required.
💰 Salary:
$64,393.22 to $77,582.20 annually (2025), depending on experience
Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications:
College diploma in accounting.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting.
Working knowledge of integrated management software and financial modules.
Proficiency in Excel (intermediate level).
Assets:
Working knowledge of SAP Business ByDesign.
