🎯 Description:
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is seeking a Plumbing and Heating teacher to deliver vocational training in Inukjuak. This contractual position offers a unique and rewarding experience in Northern Quebec, teaching motivated adult learners in a culturally diverse environment.
✅ Responsibilities:
Teach plumbing and heating techniques in line with the vocational program (5833)
Prepare lesson plans and adapt teaching methods for multilevel classes
Deliver hands-on and theoretical training aligned with MEQ (formerly MEES) standards
Support student success through guidance and assessment
Collaborate with the local school team and contribute to community-based education
💰 Salary:
Between $46,527 and $92,027 per year, based on qualifications and experience (pro-rated for 400 hours)

Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications:
Fluency in two of the three languages used at the school board: Inuktitut, English, and French
Experience teaching adult learners
Experience with multilevel classrooms
Assets:
Familiarity with MEQ vocational programs
Experience teaching English and French as second languages
Knowledge of the Moodle platform

🌟 Program Objective:
The Plumbing and Heating program prepares students for the pipefitting trade in the building services sector. It covers the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems, including hydronic, steam, forced-air, oil, radiant, and gas systems. It also addresses emerging technologies such as geothermal and solar energy.
Note: The School Board may, at its discretion, give priority to beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) even if they do not meet the formal qualifications, provided they agree to complete a designated training program.
