Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is seeking a Teacher for the Hairdressing program within the Adult Education and Vocational Training department. This 400-hour contractual position, from January to May 2025, offers a unique and rewarding experience in Nunavik, with the potential for renewal. You will play a key role in helping students develop their skills in hairdressing techniques, hygiene, and customer service.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Teaching hairdressing techniques, including cutting, styling, and coloring.
- Instructing students on hygiene, health, and safety standards.
- Guiding students in customer consultation and styling.
- Assisting with tasks related to reception and product sales.
- Supporting the development of skills necessary for a professional hairdressing environment.
Required experience and qualifications
Qualifications
- Fluency in two of KI’s official languages: Inuktitut, English, and French.
- Experience in adult education.
- Experience teaching multi-level classes.
Assets:
- Familiarity with MEES program teaching.
- Experience teaching English and French as second languages.
- Knowledge of Moodle.
Salary
The salary ranges from $46,527 to $92,027 annually, based on experience and qualifications, as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board. Additional benefits may include:
