🎯 Description:

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to support students across Nunavik’s northern communities. Working in a consultative, community-based model, the SLP will assess and treat speech, language, and communication challenges to help students reach their full academic and personal potential.

✅ Responsibilities:

  • Provide itinerant speech-language pathology services in Nunavik schools (in-person, remotely, in groups)

  • Screen, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, oral and written language, social communication, and cognitive communication disorders

  • Develop intervention plans and recommendations for parents and teachers

  • Train and support educators and technicians working with students

  • Create culturally and linguistically appropriate evaluation and intervention materials

  • Contribute to the development of language learning programs and literacy initiatives

  • Keep professional documentation up to date

  • Participate in service meetings and projects

  • Travel regularly to communities across Nunavik

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required experience and qualifications

⭐ Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Member of the Ordre des orthophonistes et audiologistes du Québec (OOAQ)

  • Practical knowledge of two of the school board’s three languages: Inuktitut, English, French

  • Willingness to travel frequently to Nunavik

  • Beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA): considered an asset

  • Experience in northern, remote, or intercultural contexts: considered an asset

  • Experience working with school-aged children: considered an asset

💰 Salary:

$50,150 to $92,027 per year, based on qualifications and experience, in accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement.
