Duration: Full-time, Indeterminate (9-month probation period)
💰 Salary: $1,099.88 – $1,242.38 per week
🕒 Work Schedule: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)

Job Description

The Special Projects Coordinator – Public Safety plays a key role in implementing and managing public safety projects for the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke. Reporting to the Commissioner of Public Safety, this individual ensures that projects align with strategic objectives and are executed efficiently.

Responsibilities

✔️ Coordinate projects and manage associated resources.
✔️ Collaborate with internal organizations, external governments, and other First Nations.
✔️ Oversee project budgets and schedules.
✔️ Organize community consultations and share project outcomes.
✔️ Provide administrative support for public safety initiatives and emergency operations.
✔️ Act as a liaison between stakeholders and facilitate communication.

Required experience and qualifications

Required Qualifications

🔹 Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or a related field + 3 years of experience.
    OR
  • High School Diploma + 10 years of experience in a related field.

🔹 Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Project management and coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of public safety and emergency preparedness regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and community consultations.
  • Valid Quebec Class 5 driver’s license required.
  • Kanien’kéha and French language skills are assets.
