📍 Location: Kuujjuaq, Kajusivik Student Residence

🎯 Description:

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is looking for a dedicated Social Services Officer to support the psychosocial well-being of adult students at the Kajusivik student residence in Kuujjuaq. This role is key in fostering a safe and supportive environment that promotes academic success.

✅ Responsibilities:

  • Assess students dealing with social, personal, or academic challenges

  • Conduct individual counselling sessions

  • Organize behavior management workshops

  • Respond to crises and emergency situations

  • Attend team meetings for follow-up on support plans

  • Support teachers and staff in addressing student needs

  • Participate in awareness and prevention programs

  • Collaborate with partner organizations

  • Advise management as needed

  • Write assessments, progress reports, and other documentation

  • Perform any other related tasks

💰 Salary: From $49,456 to $87,626 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

⏰ Work Schedule: 35 hours/week; schedule includes daytime and evening shifts with availability for emergency response during nights and weekends

Required experience and qualifications

⭐ Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • Working knowledge of at least two of the following: Inuktitut, English, French

  • Experience in youth centers, detox, rehabilitation, or detention facilities is an asset

  • Experience in northern or intercultural environments is also an asset
