🎯 Job Description:
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is seeking a Regional Training Consultant to support the professional development of Inuit teachers in the 14 communities of Nunavik. This key role involves training, mentoring, and pedagogical evaluation of local teaching staff.
✅ Responsibilities:
Regularly travel to schools to support Inuit teachers enrolled in the Kativik/McGill program.
Provide mentoring to teaching interns throughout their training.
Participate in the development and delivery of training courses and workshops for teachers.
Assess teachers and interns in collaboration with lead teachers.
Contribute to the development of Inuktitut teaching content.
Work with school principals to coordinate local teacher training consultants.
Advise on staffing needs for the Inuit sector in all schools, especially during school organization.
Stay informed on Kativik education projects and initiatives.
Perform any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.
Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications:
Certificate in education or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, psychology), or a graduate of the Kativik teacher training program.
Fluency in written and spoken Inuktitut.
Ability to communicate in English or French.
Experience supporting teaching staff in Nunavik.
Experience assisting in the delivery of courses.
Strong knowledge of Inuktitut curricula.
Willingness to travel frequently within Nunavik.
💰 Salary: From $49,456 to $92,027 annually, depending on qualifications and experience + benefits and northern allowances.
