🎯 Job Description
Under the supervision of the Communications Coordinator, the Public Relations Officer contributes to the development and implementation of communication policies and strategies that support the School Board’s strategic plan. The incumbent helps inform students, staff, parents, and the general public through various media tools and channels.
As part of a passionate and culturally engaged organization, you will help promote educational excellence and highlight the positive impact of Nunavik’s schools and communities.
✅ Key Responsibilities
Manage the School Board’s social media communities (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Monitor social media activity and trends.
Plan and execute promotional campaigns, including digital marketing, print materials, and radio announcements.
Develop engaging content that reaches the School Board’s target audiences and increases online presence.
Identify and post relevant content tailored to each social media platform.
Use content planning and management tools adopted by the Communications team.
Collaborate with team members to identify relevant topics and create content for public engagement.
Update and maintain the internal Facebook Page Management Guide.
Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
💰 Classification / Salary / Benefits
In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals, this position belongs to job category 2121:
Salary range: $53,529 to $88,795, depending on qualifications and experience.

Required experience and qualifications
⭐ Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations (or related field).
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
(The School Board may consider the application of a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) who agrees to follow a training program determined by the School Board.)
⚙️ Requirements
Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
Working knowledge of one of the two other official languages of the School Board (French or Inuktitut).
Willingness to travel to Nunavik as required (minimum two trips per year, including during the school year).
Strong computer literacy, including word processing, image editing, and layout software (Adobe Suite).
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong intercultural communication skills.
Initiative, creativity, and enthusiasm.
