Job description
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of Associate Director Indigenous Student Success (ADISS), with a soft-line to the Senior Advisor, Indigenous curriculum and pedagogies, the Special Projects Officer will manage existing and develop new projects aimed at enhancing and expanding educational pathways and access for First Nations, Inuit and Métis students at McGill. Invested in Indigenous student and Indigenous community engagement, the Special Projects Officer (Indigenous Education) will develop and maintain a wrap-around-services model that integrates the financial and non-financial supports required to recruit, retain and support FNIM students through to graduation. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting the ADISS in developing programs to increase Indigenous student enrolment and retention, developing mentorship opportunities, and supporting ongoing internal and Indigenous community relationships that are integral to the development of new and existing Indigenous-focused academic programing.
