🎯 Description
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is seeking an Outdoor Recreation Facility Worker to support the Parks Department and the Kahnawà:ke Sports Complex. This key role involves outdoor and indoor maintenance duties to ensure safe, clean, and accessible recreational spaces for the community.
✅ Responsibilities
Outdoor maintenance
Build, maintain, and repair multiple outdoor ice surfaces.
Maintain snow trails and recreational paths.
Perform preventive maintenance: flooding, edging, shoveling.
Operate and maintain equipment for grass cutting, field marking, and brush cutting.
Maintain benches, bleachers, picnic tables, and other public seating.
Mow lawns, remove litter in parks, beaches, and mini-putt areas.
Paint fields, install nets, and line baseball and soccer fields.
May assist or replace Rink Attendants when needed.
Winter support
Clear snow from outdoor rinks and around the Sports Complex.
Ensure emergency exits remain clear of snow and ice.
Maintain outdoor rink surfaces throughout the winter season.
Indoor support (when weather prevents outdoor work)
Assist in janitorial and indoor maintenance tasks: window cleaning, mopping, garbage removal, small repairs, and occasional projects.
Health and safety
Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
Cooperate with inspections and implement safety recommendations.
Report required equipment and machinery repairs to supervisor.
💰 Salary
$837.00 to $945.75 per week (based on experience)
⏰ Work Schedule
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
May include evenings, weekends, or overtime as required
Required experience and qualifications

Education & Experience
High school diploma (or equivalent).
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience.
Skills & Abilities
Good understanding of equipment safety and basic maintenance.
Strong judgment, initiative, and communication skills.
Basic computer literacy (email, Microsoft Word, software tools).
Professional, respectful, and confidential conduct with staff and the public.
Commitment to learning the Kanien’kéha language (required).
Ability to speak Kanien’kéha and/or French is an asset.
