Job description

🎯 Description:

The Kiuna Institution is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to coordinate its flagship events such as the Méritas Gala, Graduation Ceremony, and Open House Days. Join a dedicated team working in a unique, culturally rich, and stimulating First Nations educational environment.

✅ Responsibilities:

  • Analyze needs based on student characteristics and institutional priorities.

  • Plan and organize institutional events in line with strategic orientations.

  • Develop detailed annual and event-specific schedules and work plans.

  • Coordinate logistics: setup, equipment, sound and lighting, dismantling, seating plans, music, etc.

  • Obtain quotes, negotiate with suppliers, and submit for approval.

  • Prepare all required materials: invitations, programs, photo CDs, certificates, speeches, graduation albums, guest lists, tickets, PowerPoints, etc.

  • Develop event promotion strategies with the communications team.

  • Coordinate photo sessions during events.

  • Engage employees, students, and guests around each event.

  • Manage logistics before, during, and after events.

  • Anticipate problems and develop contingency plans.

  • Coordinate human, material, and financial resources related to events.

  • Oversee registration and follow up on payments.

  • Track budgets and prepare reports.

  • Seek sponsorships and/or funding.

  • Evaluate events and propose improvements.

  • Responsible for producing the academic calendar.

💰 Salary:

Between $61,578 and $83,642 annually, based on the CEPN and Kiuna salary scale.

Required experience and qualifications

⭐ Qualifications:

  • AEC in Event Coordination or DEC in Tourism or a related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in event planning or similar.

  • Good knowledge of Indigenous cultures and realities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, OneNote).
