About Kativik Ilisarniliriniq
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is the school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik. We support educational success in a context that values the language and culture of the Inuit.
Your Role
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Heavy Vehicle Driver is responsible for the safe operation of vehicles over 3,000 kg and/or a minibus for the transportation of goods, materials, or people. The driver must comply with all safety regulations and ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle.
Main Responsibilities
• Operate heavy vehicles and light-duty vehicles
• Operate a forklift (training provided by KI)
• Ensure the vehicle is clean and in good working order (fuel, inspections, cleaning, etc.)
• Maintain a delivery route schedule and write brief reports when required
• Keep the vehicle logbook and inspection records up to date
• Lift and handle items weighing up to 50 lbs
• Pick up and deliver boxes such as food packages, mail, etc.
• Deliver parcels to various building floors
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Required experience and qualifications
Qualifications
• Working knowledge of operating heavy vehicles
• Ability to complete delivery, receipt, and shipping forms
• Basic knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanics and preventative maintenance
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Note: KI may waive certain qualifications in favor of a qualified beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) who agrees to follow a training plan set by the board.
Requirements
• Proficiency in two of the three working languages of the board: Inuktitut, English, and French
• Experience driving cube trucks
Working Conditions & Benefits
This position falls under job class 5308 of the AENQ support staff collective agreement.
Hourly wage: $23.24
